Tonight Cole had a bath and a fresh change of sheets so he's back to that handsome young man we all know and love. He needed it after going a couple of rounds with Tom who used all of his strength to keep him restrained. Although Cole's been a little bit more agitated since he had the tubes removed from his throat, he seems to have settled down for the night. He's had both his catheter and bolt removed and now only has the feeding tube, moist air and the IV's.  He also had a breathing treatment with albuterol tonight to help with his congestion.

Tom and Rhonda have received permission to park their motor home at the Ronald McDonald House parking lot which will at least provide them a few of the comforts of home and the opportunity to catch a few winks and grab something to eat.

The hospital staff has been great. They are patient with Cole and are very tolerant of the endless questions posed by family and friends.

Today Rhonda's cousin suggested that she read Matthew 7:7 in her Bible.  Rhonda mistakenly turned to Matthew 8:5-13, and after reading the verses truly feels that through the word of God she is drawing comfort and assurance that Cole will be healed.

Tom, Rhonda and the boys have read all of the comments posted, appreciate your thoughts and prayers and are in awe at the outpouring of love and support from friends, family and even total strangers.

  1. Hello, my name is Kailey Justman. Cole and I met at Vanguard where we were in ASB together. I am so stoked to hear that he is progressing so well. Cole used to tease me that he got to meet Bubba Stewart and always showed me the autograph on his binder. Please tell him that I said hello and am thinking of him constantly. I am praying for his full recovery so that we can finally go to the movies together as he was always bugging me to do. Please give him a huge hug for me.

  8. I am so thankful to learn that Cole is on the right track. Reading all of the blogs brings tears to my eyes…it could so easily have been any of our children who love to ride/race! My son Dylan hung out with Cole at the PanicRev Camp and was so sad to hear the news. The whole family is in our prayers and we are so thankful for all the updates you are posting. God Bless your family, Bill, Andi, Dylan (#131), & Taylor Hooper
